Cary, NC – September 17, 2024 – The Center for Leadership Studies (CLS), the global home of the Situational Leadership® Model, announced the release of the Communicating Effectively course that enables leaders to strengthen alignment and effectiveness with intentional communication that fosters clarity, trust and productivity.
Communication is second nature, and we do it all the time, but effective communication requires intentionality, clarity and the ability to inspire and engage others. In a world where understanding and trust are essential, it’s unsurprising that organizations with ineffective workplace communication lose $1.2 trillion annually in the United States.1 Additionally, a Forbes study revealed nearly half of workers report their productivity being affected by ineffective communication, and that ineffective communication negatively impacts job satisfaction and increases stress levels.2
The role of today’s leaders requires strong communication skills to carry out the responsibility of delivering critical messages that shape team direction, morale and performance. From setting clear goals and expectations to navigating organizational changes or resolving conflicts, leaders who communicate well ensure their teams stay informed, motivated and aligned. The Communicating Effectively course provides essential strategies and best practices for intentional communication that gets everyone on the same page and moving in the same direction.
Suzie Bishop, VP of Product Development at The Center for Leadership Studies said, “The Communicating Effectively course is a great addition to our Performance Curriculum, given we know that communication is such an important factor in business success. Effective communication is more than sharing an idea, it’s sending a clear message, so the receiver understands the intention behind the message and knows how to act upon it. By strengthening the leader’s ability to communicate, so the receiver knows how to move forward, not only drives success outcomes, but has a profound impact on engagement, trust and overall job satisfaction.”
Available in in-person instructor-led training (ILT) and virtual instructor-led training (vILT), Communicating Effectively is a two-hour course that teaches leaders the communication skills to create a trust-filled workplace.
Through engaging activities and in-depth peer discussions, participants will learn to apply a three-phase strategy for communication that enhances collaboration, minimizes confusion and improves performance, creating an environment where team members express themselves clearly and honestly, understand others and define next steps
